What Are You Listening To This Weekend?

Friday. And we're celebrating the end of the week with a performance of Turandot tonight. Sunday we're not. Only because it's sold-out and we don't have a ticket. It's a good feeling to be able to say that, but kind of sad knowing that tonight will be our last chance to see this one. It's a great cast and an incredible production but it's also filled with very dear friends.

After that we'll take a musical breather and get ready for Der Rosenkavalier.

Hiya,
I had a great time at the SDO Friday night for Turandot. A sold out house! A few fellow opera goers were rather miffed that the fire curtain came down after just one ensemble curtain, tho. :o) Can you imagine that??? They actually wanted to stay and clap a bit longer even though it was already 11PM!

Anyhow, I've gone from Puccini's finale to the highlights from Wagner's Ring Cycle (from Bayreuth 1967 with Karl Boehm). Call me a masochist - I go from one high notes screaming dramatic soprano to another for the sake of acoustic punishment (just kidding, of course. Lise Lindstrom was very impressive as Turandot).

Can't wait until Der Rosenkavalier. :o)
